The Behavior Resource Specialists provide a variety of services to both parents and participating providers:

  • Individual/Group observations and feedback sessions with parents and providers.
  • Workshops.
  • On-site technical assistance.
  • Supportive social skills story times.
  • Curriculum theme kits, resource backpacks dealing with sensitive issues and an extensive resource library with materials, books, and videos to borrow. wp3442ced3.gif
  • Maintenance visits for programs which have their CDA/NAEYC in order to ensure continued high quality care.

The Parent Support Specialists’ goal is to provide services to families of preschool age children through:

J Workshops on topics such as Discipline, Stress Management, Balancing Work and  Family, Kindergarten Readiness and more.

Parent support groups.

J Parent consultations.

J Individual observations.

J Parent resource lending

     library.

J Parent/Child play groups.

The Language and Literacy Specialists offer the following services to participating providers, the children in their care and their families/parents:

¨ Individual/Group observations and feedback sessions.

¨ On-Site technical assistance.

¨ Workshops on topics such as Make Your Own Materials, Theme Teaching for Language Development and Multicultural  Diversity in the Preschool Classroom.

¨ Annual events include:  Literacy Month, Read Across America, Week of the Young Child and Better Speech and Hearing Month

¨ Hearing Screenings offered all year at the child care sites.
